To begin with, it is a little early for this because this feature was only recently announced. But, fortunately, you can already take steps to get closer to this feature, and here's what we know so far.

What are Twitter Communities ?
This new feature will introduce a new type of page where community members, similar to other social networks, can post to the common timeline. Only community moderators or existing members can currently invite others to join their communities, so there is no simple way to do so.
Despite being publicly announced, you can only access existing communities on the web and through a special link discovered by @wongmjane. If you search for community posts, you may already come across two communities: AstroTwitter and Climate and Weather.
How to create a Twitter Community ?
Although it is unlikely to happen anytime soon, Twitter has opened a request form where you can submit your ideas. It also asks you to describe the type of community you want to build and who will be willing to join it.
- Open the Twitter community creation request form.
- Submit your community description.
- Wait for Twitter's permission.
Twitter hasn't provided a timeline or numbers for these applications, so it's unclear how long it will take them to review them. Follow the official @joincommunities account to stay up to date on any future changes and release announcements.
