A hacker gains access to the FBI's email servers and sends bogus cybersecurity emails.

According to reports, a hacker hacked the FBI's email system and sent bogus emails through it.

The email eims@ic.fbi.gov with the subject Urgent: Threat actor in systems was sent to over 100,000 people, and the recipient will notice that it comes from real FBI servers. DKIM verification is identical to the original email.

These email addresses were obtained using the American Registry for Internet Numbers (ARIN) database, and these bogus emails were initially reported to The Spamhaus Project, a non-profit organization that fights spammers.

According to the email's contents, it contains false information about a security researcher named Vinny Troia, a hacker group with which he is affiliated, and the cyber attack he carried out.

Vinny Troia, on the other hand, announced on its official Twitter account that the attack was carried out by a person posing as @pompompur in on Twitter, and after the attack began, via an official FBI email address: "Hello, my name is Pompompurin.

According to the FBI, the hacker was unable to access their other information systems, and the server was not connected to the FBI's corporate email service but was used to send notifications. This action was taken in order to raise awareness.

According to the FBI, the software vulnerability that is the root cause of this problem has been addressed.
