Microsoft’s new emoji are now available in Windows 11

It’s not the 3D version that Microsoft promised

Microsoft has started to roll out the new emojis for Windows 11 in its Fluent design style. The new emojis were included in the new optional update that also includes a number of fixes and improvements for Windows 11's original version.

Regardless of the fact that they are a full redesign of the previous version of emojis, they lacked the 3D style that the company had previously shown. These are 2D emojis, not 3D emojis.

Microsoft’s new emoji was supposed to be more 3D.

A Clippy emoji, that replaces the standard paperclip emoji on Windows 11, are included in the latest version in addition to the new designs.

The new emojis look similar to the older models, but they have brighter colors and black borders. The new collection of emoticons, however, does not include the ability to change the skin tone of a grouping of emojis (family members, couples with hearts, kissing, and people holding hands).

Microsoft's choice to switch from 3D to 2D styles is unclear. If you want to get them straight away, go to Settings > Update & security > Advanced Options > Optional updates and download the KB5007262 update to get the new version of emojis.
